The simple interface of the card is seen as the primary object of communication in order to represent the endless identities that all of us can have. By providing a variety of visuals and labels, everyone is invited to choose one or more cards. The project celebrates the aspect of graphic design as a form of employer management and team-building tool. As an example of human-centered design, Impersonae becomes a democratic facilitator in social contexts, enabling the participants to tell stories and build self-narratives. &nbsp; <img width="5000" The proposal focuses on the concept of surveillance. In today’s new world-configuration and post-capitalistic dynamics everything is measureable. Measureable is the time we invest on our social, cultural, economic activities. Measureable is our spatial logistic performances. Rec Order wants to play with the concept of social control through our cameras and smart phones. The project wants to look at visual and graphic design as a creative methodology and a research tool, a discipline with the capacity of connecting people at a deeper and more meaningful level through visual and conceptual entertainment. The idea focuses on the complex issue of identity through the elementary tool of the card. The basic shape of a graphic circle becomes the interface for the cards and it gives them a fresh, state-of-the-art interpretation, the cards indeed reflect our ever-evolving personalities and qualities, which could help people overcome biases and prejudices but also simplifying communication thanks to the support of graphics. Three heads emerge from the left side of the page, building up a symbolic imagery of three human profiles which overlapped with each other. They slowly lose their connotation, at the same time the graphic silouhettes create an empty space almost complementary with them, leaving an intense colorful space which stands for the ‘other’, the nature. The idea is to catch the viewer’s attention through the employment of appealing covers in order to make them reflect on some of the sub- and collateral phenomena brought by the current crisis. The name ‘chronic’ refers to both its main subject and its chronic aspect, which is the state of (social) disease and the pandemic itself, and to the imagery connected to the world of news, to the chronicle.&nbsp; The project indeed is conceived to be released in the format of a visual article, through the blending of text and image, the cover wants to portray some specific terms, concepts and phenomena that involve our new world’s configuration. It is an omnipresent feeling that affects our choices and decisions and shapes our personalities. The boundary between desire and need has never been more ephemeral.' Chiara Zhu THE LUST is a cultural communication project originally created as a magazine to include philosophical investigations, interviews and visual content. In an almost Disney-like style made of objects, pastel colours and painted matryoshka dolls, which symbolise the individual and are the leitmotif of the exhibition, Chiara Zhu suggests the elusiveness and intrinsic contradiction of the combination of desire and need. Behind a seemingly aesthetic research of the images on display hides a deeper and (self) critical vision of contemporaneity. 'LUST', a Freudian term that denotes sexual desire, plays ironically with our daily cravings. Each image on display is accompanied by a short text that draws its inspiration from key figures of modern philosophy and sociology. The desire-need loop is thus reflected in the relationship between image and word: the former cannot be fully explained without the latter, and the text draws strength from the direct language of the image.
